Denmark joined the EU in 1973 after a referendum on 2 October 1972, it has not joined the Eurozone. It has 7 votes out of 345 in the Council and 13 seats out of 736 in the European Parliament.
Denmark has a population of 5.5 million. It is a constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary system of government. It is a founding member of NATO and the OECD.
